Osroe - he called himself "the old man" or "Stew" - I called him Dad. He was a quiet man with a calmness about him. I once asked him if he would tell me about the War and he said which one, and then said there is nothing a young girl needs to know about war. My mother was his second marriage - Kathleen Arleen Hubley - My dad had two sons in his first marriage I had never gotten to know - two daughters with mom. He was tall and slim, had soft blue/gray eyes, big hands, and a warm hug and always time for me. He has been honored by his great-grandson being his namesake. He was in WWII and was the only survivor after his military med truck was blown-up. He was the youngest in his family - his mother died when he was very young - he had to leave school to help on the farm - his education was not long and limited. There are two pictures of him late in life - no others have been found.
