Orval Ray Neatherry Obituary
Orval Ray Neatherry, 51, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Neatherry, 1117 Walnut street, and a former Carthage resident, died at 9:30 a.m. today in a Los Angeles, California hospital. He had suffered a heart ailment several years. His condition became critical last night and he was moved to the hospital. Preparation was being made for him to have surgery when death occurred.
Mr. Neatherry was born Dec. 17, 1910 in Sarcoxie. His parents came to Carthage in 1918 and he grew up here. On January 26, 1932 Ray Neatherry was married to Alice M. Everitt in Webb City and they made their home there until going to California in 1942.
He was employed as a hand polisher for the California Marble Company.
Surviving are his wife and parents; a daughter, Mrs. Nettie Clifford, Los Angeles; a son, Orval Ray, Jr., of the home; two sister, Mrs. Juanita Burnett, 1201 Forest and Mrs. Wanda Klarner, 703 Fulton; three brothers, Cecil Neatherry, Rogers, Ark; J. C. Neatherry, 1125, Los Angeles and a grandson, Patrick Clifford, Los Angeles.
The daughter, Mrs. Cliford, her husband and son have been here two weeks visiting in the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Neatherry.
The body is being returned to Carthage and will be received by the Knell Mortuary. Burial will be in Park Cemetery.
