Olive Bertha (Searle) Secretan was born in 1895 to Emily Ruth Searle ( Grant and Henry Edward Searle, and had siblings Emily Ivy Claydon ( Searle, Gilbert "Bert" Edward Searle, Arthur Henry Searle, and Annie Winifred Searle. She married Sydney John Secretan, and died at age 53 years old on September 26, 1949. Olive Secretan was buried at Crematorium in Springvale, Greater Dandenong City County, VIC Australia.

In 1895, in the year that Olive Bertha Secretan ( Searle was born, on March 15th, in County Tipperary, Ireland, Michael Cleary killed his wife of 8 years, Bridget, and burned her body. His defense was that his "wife" was a changeling that was left in his real wife's place when she was abducted by fairies. He was nonetheless convicted and imprisoned for manslaughter. He spent 15 years in prison.
