    Born to Eternal Life on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at the age of 83. Beloved husband and best friend of Therese. Loving father of Greg (Kathy), Brian (Christine) and Kevin (Nancy) Bruseth. Dear stepfather of Brian (Mary) Hohlfeld, Dawn (Tom) Witte, Anita (Charlie) Wojciechowski, Jeanne (Jim) Schaeffer, Mark (Tina) Hohlfeld, Jeffrey (Mary) Hohlfeld and Julie (Todd) Schomburg. Proud grandpa of 23 and great grandpa of 9. Further survived by other relatives and friends. Visitation Tuesday, September 11 at the funeral home from 4-7 PM. Additional visitation will be Wednesday at St. James Catholic Church W220 N6588 Town Line Rd., Menomonee Falls from 9 AM until time of Funeral Mass at 11 AM. Entombment Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield. Norman retired as a Captain of the Wauwatosa Fire Dept. after 31 years of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. James Catholic Church are appreciated. Note: obituary prepared by Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home

In 1935, in the year that Norman J. Bruseth was born, the BOI's name (the Bureau of Investigation) was changed to the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) and it officially became a separate agency with the Department of Justice. J. Edgar Hoover, the Chief of the BOI, continued in his office and became the first Director of the FBI. The FBI's responsibility is to "detect and prosecute crimes against the United States".

In 1943, he was only 8 years old when on September 3rd, the Armistice of Cassibile was signed in Sicily. Under the terms of the Armistice, Italy surrendered to the Allied Powers. After the Armistice was made public on September 8th, Germany attacked and occupied Italy. It took 20 months of fighting for the Allies to reach the northern borders of Italy.
