Norbert L Kashak of Chesterton, Porter County, IN was born on October 22, 1916 to Martha (Shultz) Kashak and Leonard Kashak. He had siblings Eleanor Kashak, Rita Kashak, Raymond Kashak, Anette Kashak, and Mildred Kashak. He married Eileen "Mickey" (Blanchard) Kashak, and had children Sally Louise Kashak and Jack Kashak. Norbert Kashak died at age 87 years old on May 5, 2004.

Norbert "Jack" Kashak was an avid outdoorsman, a hero saving his home town from an oil field fire, a loving parent and grandparent. He loved balloons and vaudeville sing alongs. He raised 2 kids and then shared in the raising of his grandkids. He fished and hunted and shared his love of the outdoors with all who would join him. He was an activist and a guy who could throw a mean picnic!
