Nina Melissa (McKinney) Martin of Virginia United States was born on November 25, 1919 in WV, and was the mother of GLENN ALLEN MARTIN, PATRICIA FAYE (MARTIN), David Clifford Martin, Carol Ann (Martin) Strolle, Truman Franklyn Martin, Rita Irene (Martin) Lemon, Michael Lynn Martin, Martha Catherine (Martin) LaValle, Herbert Daniel Martin, and Karen Rebecca (Martin) Pearce. Nina Martin died at age 89 years old on June 6, 2009.

    Nina was born November 25, 1919 to Ida and Benjamin H. McKinney. Nina's mother died when Nina was very small. She married Truman Allen Martin in 1937 and was divorced sometime around 1956. Nina had 10 children with Truman. She moved to Plymouth, Marshall, Indiana after her divorce. Nina's children included (1)GLENN ALLEN MARTIN, (2)PATRICIA FAYE MARTIN, SCHIEB, (3)DAVID CLIFFORD MARTIN, (4) TRUMAN FRANKLYN MARTIN, (5) CAROL ANN MARTIN, STROLLE (6) MICHAEL LYNN MARTIN, (7) HERBERT "DANIEL" MARTIN, (8) RITA IRENE MARTIN, LEMON (9) MARTHA KATHERINE MARTIN, LAVELLE, AND (10) KAREN REBECCA MARTIN, LEILERT. Nina has lived in West Virginia, Virginia, and Indiana. Nina had many siblings. Her father Benjamin had married 4 times before passing away. The last names associated with her siblings include McKinney, Roach and Stapleton and Hughes. Nina was 92 years old when she passed away in 2009.

    Nina was raised in Raleigh, West Virginia by her father Benjamin Harrison Mckinney and Mother Ida Blankenship, and after her mother died Nina's stepmother was Susie Armentia Hughes. She later married Truman Allen Martin and moved to Lee, Virginia, United States. Sometime in the late 1950's Nina divorced Truman and moved her children and herself to Plymouth, Marshall, IN. She lived there until her children were grown and she moved back to Virginia and that is where she died.

In 1919, in the year that Nina Melissa McKinney was born, on January 6th, President Theodore Roosevelt died. Having gone to bed the previous night after being treated for breathing problems, the ex-President died in his sleep from a clot that had traveled to his lungs. He was 60. After a simple service, Roosevelt was buried on a hillside overlooking Oyster Bay.
