  • Introduction

Newland was the influencing factor that led my father to also become a Presbyterian minister. Newland baptised me at First Presbyterian in Evanston, Illinois. And my whole life he and his wife were known to me as Uncle Newland and Aunt Ruby. They were avid gardeners...especially Newland. I can't think of any other man in my life for whom I had more admiration and respect. He was the only one who could call me Jamie and I didn't mind. (Jim Stettner, 04-07-2019)
