Myron Logan Poe of Long Beach, Los Angeles County, CA was born on June 9, 1918 in Visalia, Tulare County to John Wesley Poe Jr and Doris Drew (Firebaugh) Poe. He had a brother Robert Wesley Poe. He married Fern (Jordan) Heuman Poe on April 20, 1940 in Glendale, Los Angeles County, and they were married until Myron's death on February 12, 2009. He had children Russ Poe, John Carl Poe, and Thomas "Tommy" Allen Poe. Myron Poe was buried at Donated body to USC Medical School.

After marrying Doris in 1915, they lived in Visalia, Tulare, California where he worked as a butter tester for a creamery. Later in Los Angeles, he worked as an ice cream maker. He passed away on August 28, 1962 in Redondo Beach, Los Angeles, California, USA.

Compton Dairy Products, 1940s

Photo from an article written about the Compton Dairy Product plant in the 1940s. The plant was run by my grandfather, John Wesley Poe, and his sons, Robert (Bob) Poe and Myron (Miny) Poe, my father. They made cheese here but also made specialty ice cream products like ice cream bars and drumsticks. They also made all the mix for all the Southern California Foster Freeze Ice Cream stores.

Miny & Tom Poe, 1953

First snow skiing lessons at Pacific Coast Club.

This photo, taken in 1953, is of my dad, Miny Poe, encouraging me to learn how to ski. The classes were taught by a Swiss-expatriate, Tommy Tyndal, who later opened and ran Snow Summit in the San Gabriel Mountains two hours from Long Beach.
