Mona N Boyd married William A. Tingue Sr. (1933 - 2022) on October 11th, 1952 in Yorkshire, New York and they had children William Tingue Jr., Ricky, Mike, Gene, Douglas, Daniel and Connie.     TINGUE Mona N. (nee Boyd) Age 72, of Arcade, died September 7, 2007. Beloved mother of William Jr. "Squeek" (Donna) Tingue, Ricky (Debbie) Tingue, Mike (Pam) Tingue, Gene (Diane) Tingue, Douglas (Sue) Tingue, Daniel (Melody) Tingue and Connie (Alan) Andress; sister of Wynn (late Mary) Boyd, Larry (Kim) Boyd and the late Kent Boyd; also survived by 16 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was grandmother of the late Jared Tingue. Friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at W.S. DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 358 W. Main St., Arcade, where Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 2PM. Interment will be in Arcade Rural Cemetery. - The Buffalo News (Buffalo, New York) Saturday September 8, 2007 on page 40.

In 1935, in the year that Mona N Tingue was born, on September 8th, Louisiana Senator Huey Long was shot by Dr. Carl Weiss. Weiss was shot and killed immediately by Long's bodyguards - Long died two days later from his injuries. Long had received many death threats previously, as well as threats against his family. He was a powerful and controversial figure in Louisiana politics (and probably gained power through multiple criminal acts). His opponents became frustrated with their attempts to oust him and Dr. Weiss was the son-in-law of one of those opponents. His funeral was attended by 200,000 mourners.

In 1958, Mona was 23 years old when on March 24th, Elvis Presley was inducted into the United States Army. Although he could have served in Special Services as an entertainer, he chose to become a regular soldier. Almost everyone thought it would be the end of his career - it wasn't.
