I’ll put a chicken in the oven
Met Mrs Claster as a freshman at Lock Haven. I heard music walking past her house, knocked on her door and was shocked to see a little hunchbacked women answer the door. She invited me in and a wonderful friendship began. She told me her history playing for silent movies and studying with George Shearing. We began performing together at Lock Haven, for Haddasah groups, and other places in the vicinity. I would drive her car and always upon returning she would ask if I wanted to come in. I explained that I had to get back to the dorm before the doors lock. She looked up at my 6’3 frame and said, come in, I’ll put a chicken in the oven, it will take 5 minutes. We spent hours together sitting and singing at her piano. Amazing woman
