Lois grew up in the Thornwell Childrens home in Clinton S. C.. I don't know at what age she got out and returned to her siblings. This lady could also be a Clark from Meriwether. Lois had a Aunt named (Aunt Rhody)Rhoda Jane Spivey Godfrey who lived until 1938.
John Clark & Spivey Children
John Clark & Spivey Children
John Clark applied for guardianship of the Spivey children after the close together death of their parents William James Spivey & Ludie Maud Clark in 1919. My grandmother always called it Gay Georgia. William was the son of James J Spivey & Elizebrth (Besty) Mitchell, grandson of Jordon Spivey and Sarah Chapell Tweety. All of Meriwether County Georgia.
They have the children listed as Clarks. Six of the children were placed in Thornwell Childrens Home in Clinton S. C. in 1921.
Date & Place: at Spivey in Meriwether, Georgia United States
