    When Mildred was 22 years old and single, she told the 1940 Federal census that she was working as a press operator. Ten years later, she told the Federal census that she was married and a housewife. Before she retired in 1984, Mildred was a cafeteria cashier at Ben Franklin Middle School.

    Mildred (Borgia) Willis was born to Samuel Borgia and Margaret Borgia on September 28th, 1918 in Farmington, Marion County, West Virginia. She had siblings Sid, JoAnn, Lea, and Audrey. Mildred Borgia married Herbert Joseph Willis, born 1917, on September 1st, 1940 in New York, New York. They had children Thomas J., John T., and Barbara L. Willis.     MILDRED BORGIA WILLIS, 79, of Ridgewood died Monday. Before retiring in 1984, she was a cafeteria cashier at Ben Franklin Middle School, Ridgewood. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church and a volunteer at The Valley Hospital, both in Ridgewood. Arrangements: Feeney Funeral Home, Ridgewood.

In 1928, when she was merely 10 years old, Mickie Mouse was born! He first appeared in Disney's Steamboat Willie, along with Minnie. Although they were in two previous shorts, this was the first to be distributed. Steamboat Willie took advantage of the new technology and was a "talkie" - music was coordinated with the animation.
