    Milbry Louise (Thurmond) Carr was born to father Rabin Thurmond and mother Opal Turner. At 50 years old she divorced her husband A C Carr in Gregg Texas. She had two brothers: Rabin Thurmond Jr and Arthur Ray Thurmond and one sister, Audrey Fave Metters (1941-2019) who went by the name "Mama" Metters. The Carr family currently lives predominately in Texas and California. Relatives Darrel & Susan Carr lost their 16 year old son Justin, a student at Studio City school, who collapsed while swimming in a Harvard-Westlake pool.

In 1928, in the year that Milbry L Carr was born, Mickie Mouse was born! He first appeared in Disney's Steamboat Willie, along with Minnie. Although they were in two previous shorts, this was the first to be distributed. Steamboat Willie took advantage of the new technology and was a "talkie" - music was coordinated with the animation. It became the most popular cartoon of its day.

In 1948, at the age of 20 years old, Milbry was alive when on January 30th, Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated in New Delhi by a member of a Hindu nationalist party who thought that Gandhi was too accommodating to Muslims. The man, Nathuram Godse, shot Gandhi 3 times. He died immediately. The shooter was tried, convicted, and hung in November 1949.
