Mark W. Haburay, 53, died Saturday, June 3, 2006, at Fairview Hospital in Cleveland of a long illness. He was born Aug. 7. 1952, in Fayetteville, N. C., and had lived in W. Salem for several years.
He graduated from Benedictine High School, Cleveland, and Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas in 1974 with a degree in music.
He was employed by the Mansfield Correctional Institution as a corrections officer for 10 years. His hobbies included jazz piano and playing the church organ.
He is survived by his wife, Carol (nee Kubancik); daughter, Anna; son, Michael W. II, both at home; mother, Margaret (nee Repasky); and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Haburay.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Joseph Misencik Funeral Home,
12500 Madison Ave., Lakewood, 44107, 216-221-2522, where closing prayers will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., followed by an 11 a.m. Mass at St. Hedwig Catholic Church, Lakewood, with the Rev. John Bryk and the Rev. Carl Uhler, concelebrating.
Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Cleveland. A Rosary will be recited Tuesday at 7 p.m. There will also be a memorial mass celebrated Sunday, June 25, 2006, at 11:15 a.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 44 Britton Rd., W.Salem, OH.
