Maurice Hanford Holmes was born on September 18, 1908 in Woodburn, Oregon United States to William Holmes and Laura Esther Duvall, and had a brother Howard Holmes. He married Blanche Isabel Rose McLachlan and they later divorced. He had children Maurice William Holmes, Norman Leroy Holmes, Howard Hanford Holmes, and Blanche Shirley Romas. Maurice Holmes died at age 48 years old on February 9, 1957 in Ogden, Utah.
