Mary Susan (James) Barr was born on July 17, 1879 in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee United States to Jesse Woodson James and Zerelda Amanda (Mimms) James, and had siblings Jesse Edward James, Gould James, and Montgomery James. She married Henry Lafayette Barr on March 6, 1901, and they were married until Henry's death in 1935. She had children Lawrence Henry Barr, Forster Ray Barr, Chester Arthur Barr, and Henrietta Barr. Mary Barr died at age 56 years old on October 11, 1935 in Kansas City, Jackson County, MO.
