Mary (Blacker) Harvey of Geelong, Greater Geelong City County, VIC Australia was born in 1870 to Thomas Blacker and Mary Dobson Blacker. She had siblings Hannah (Blacker) Watkin, Margaret Blacker, Elizabeth Blacker, Harriet Blacker, Ameila Jane Blacker, Thomas Blacker, Sarah Ann Blacker, Albert Blacker, Alfred Blacker, James Blacker, Charles Blacker, and Joseph Blacker. She married Richard Harvey in 1899, and had children Richard Harvey, Mary Harvey, Emma Harvey Cork, Thomas Harvey, Ruby Harvey, and May Harvey. Mary Harvey died at age 60 years old on April 12, 1931 in Geelong.

In 1903, she was 33 years old when the silent film, The Great Train Robbery opened. Although it was filmed in Milltown, New Jersey, it was a Western. Twelve minutes long, the film used a lot of innovative techniques - some scenes were hand colored and composite editing, on-location shooting, and frequent camera movement were used. Its budget was $150 (about $4000 currently) and was the most popular film until 1915 when Birth of a Nation was released.
