She had siblings Vida Commonwealth Cooper, Gladstone Edward Cooper, Norman Henry Cooper, and Frank Pavitte Cooper. Marion Waldie married Harry Waldie in 1920, and died at age 72 years old on October 16, 1969 in Heidelberg.

Virginia's father had told her that "If you see it in The Sun, it's so." So she wrote to the Sun, asking if there was a Santa Claus.
