Maria Mcalhany died at age 83 years old on February 20, 2011, and was buried on August 7, 2013 at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA.

    My mother survived one of the worst wars ever, hiding in Dresden, seeking shelter on trains, country side woods, guided by the Grace of God. She met my father in Waldorf, Germany in 1952, he pursued her for marriage and finally married March 3, 1953 in a small church in Waldorf, Germany. They had 8 children together and remained married till death.
