Marguerite (Ringin) Pemberton of Oakleigh, City of Monash County, VIC Australia was born in 1881 in Drouin, Baw Baw Shire County to David Ringin and Elizabeth Smyth Ringin. She had siblings Mary Ann (Ringin) Mcdonald, Elizabeth Robinson Elspeth Ringin, Grace Ringin Kenney, David Ringin Jr., Andrew Ringin, and James William Ringin. Marguerite Pemberton died at age 79 years old in October 1961 in Oakleigh, City of Monash County.

In 1881, in the year that Marguerite Ringin was born, on April 28th, Billy the Kid escaped from the Lincoln County Jail in New Mexico. He killed James Bell and Robert Ollinger in the escape and then stole a horse and rode out of town. On July 14th, Pat Garrett shot and killed Billy the Kid in Billy's friend's home near Fort Sumner, New Mexico.

In 1918, when she was 37 years old, on November 1, an elevated train on the Brooklyn line of the subway - driven by an inexperienced operator because of a strike - tried to navigate a turn at 30mph. The limit on the curve was 6 mph. The 2nd and 3rd cars of the 5 car wooden train were badly damaged and at least 93 people were killed, making it the deadliest crash in New York subway history.
