Together the couple had children Richard Thompson Burnop (1856-1937), James Powell Burnop (1858-1922), Mary Ann Burnop (1860-1870), Margaret Burnopp (1862-1924), Mary Belle Burnop (1867-1924), Mercy "Meecy" America Burnop (1872-1920), Faith Burnop (1874-1874), Hope Burnop (1874-1874), Charity Burnop (1874-1874), Elizabeth "Betsey" Burnop (1875-1940), and John Burnop. Margaret then immigrated to the US arriving in New York, New York on November 2, 1857. She then resided in Rich Valley, Smyth, Virginia, USA for the remainder of her life.
