She had a sister Jutta Vera Schlamm Md. She married Eric Haas, and had children Peter Jerome Haas and Deborah Ann Haas. Marga Auguste Haas died at age 49 years old on February 27, 1970, and was buried in February 1970 at Congregation of Beth El Memorial Park in San Antonio.

In 1921, in the year that Marga Auguste Schlamm Haas was born, on March 4, Warren G. Harding became President. Previously a U.S. Senator, Lieutenant Governor, and Ohio State Senator, Harding was a popular President. But many scandals plagued his short administration (he died in office after 2 and a half years), including the revelations of one of his mistresses and the Teapot Dome scandal. Historically, Harding is rated as one of the worst Presidents.

In 1937, Marga Auguste was 16 years old when on May 6th, the German zeppelin the Hindenburg caught fire and blew up. The Hindenburg was a passenger ship traveling to Frankfurt Germany. It tried to dock in New Jersey, one of the stops, and something went wrong - it blew up. Thirty-six people were killed out of the 97 on board - 13 passengers, 22 crewmen, and one ground worker. The reasons for the explosion are still disputed.
