this must be the same CARR family that was related to my fathers family the MIDDLETONS of harlan ky.dads relatives named after the CARR family were==CARR MIDDLETON and CARR BAILEY. possibly others.
I have the Kerrs and the Carrs first in PA, then a few moved briefly to KY, then on to IN and westward. I do not recall a Middleton connection, but perhaps there was.
Thanks for writing.
Madeline, while pregnant with her third child, had had to have her leg amputated due to bone cancer. Eventually she was fitted with a wooden leg prosthesis. She went on to have two more children, and was a wonderful mother, wife, and daughter. She and her husband, Kenneth Tanksley, had been married nearly sixty-four years when he died.
Kenneth (8 Oct 1906-4 March 1995) was the son of William and Ada (Martin) Tanksley. I remember him taking my family when I was a little girl on a tour, in his capacity as a park ranger at the Spring Mill State Park in Mitchell.

Tragically, while Madeline was pregnant with her third child, she had to have one of her legs amputated. This is one of the few pictures I have of Madeline as a young lady before she had to have the operation. She had to use crutches for some time, and eventually got a wooden leg prosthesis to wear.
