He married Eruetta Prink, and had children Laura E. Leek, Alphonso J. Leek, Harriet Chase Leek, and Sarah E. Leek. Ludowick Leek died at age 84 years old on March 28, 1913 in Eddyville, Ulster County, NY.

    In the opinion of this writer, Ludowick is of the most unique names for a 1st name of a child. It is unknown as to how and why his parents decided on that name. Ludowick wed in Ct. about 1852 to Eruetta Prink and had 4 children.

In 1839, by the time he was merely 11 years old, in The Boston Morning Post, on March 23rd, the first recorded use of the word "OK" appeared. A columnist in the paper said this: "The "Chairman of the Committee on Charity Lecture Bells, is one of the deputation, and perhaps if he should return to Boston, via Providence, he of the Journal, and his train-band, would have his 'contribution box,' et ceteras, o.k.—all correct—and cause the corks to fly, like sparks, upward." While this is the first known time that OK appeared in print, where the word came from is still disputed.
