    Louis Gincel was born to Morris Gincel (born 1855) and Sarah Gruntand (1859 - 1928). Both parents had been born in Russia. He five siblings - four sisters and one brother, among them Minnie (born 1876), Harry (1877 - 1918), Rose (1878 - 1953), Lillian (born 1882), and Lena (born 1884) Gincel and five half siblings, three sisters and two brothers, Kate (born 1888), George W. (1891 - 1969), Ester (born 1895), Alexander (1897 - 1935), and Ruth Eckstein (1900 - 1948). NOTE: Louis Gincel's date of birth is recorded by his family as September 12, 1887. His official government records state that he was born on September 12, 1886. His Social Security Death Index record states that he was born on August 25, 1886. Louis Gincel married Bessie Harris (1887 - 1963) and they had three children, two daughters and a son, Francine (1924 - 2008), Harry (1925 - 1995), and Rose Gincel (1926 - 1993).     The following obituary appeared in The Jersey Journal (Jersey City, New Jersey) on Monday, July 31, 1967: Louis Gincel, 80 The funeral of Louis Gincel, 80, of 324 Duncan Ave., Jersey City, was held today from Wien and Wien Funeral Home, with Rabbi Meyer Auerbach officiating, and interment in the United Hebrew Cemetery, Staten Island. Mr. Gincel, a retired merchant, died Saturday, at home. he was a member of the Bayonne Aid Society.
