What can I say about Shelly, Lou, Stephanie and Gordy...other than we (the Porters: Alene, Stevie and Kimmy) absolutely LOVED going to their home!! Those times back in good ole Elkins Park bring tears and smiles to my face. I was so hurt to have heard of Shelly's passing but she was loved and cherished by her family and friends. My mom, whom she called Lenny loved her and missed her dearly when they moved to California, I believe walnut creek. I remember Lou had a convention in NYC and Shelly asked mom to come along to keep her company. Mom had the time of her life with her old friend. I have great memories of those days and wish my child could have known the Lavignes. They were truly caring people who looked beyond race and religion. All they knew was kindness and love for fellow man. Shelly, I miss u. Love, Kim Phillips (porter)
