Mr. Trempe retired as Command Sgt. Major while residing in Spanaway.

    The Union Leader (Manchester NH) Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002 SPANAWAY, Wash. - Lloyd E. Trempe, 72, of Spanaway, formerly of New Hampshire, died Nov. 19, 2001. Born June 29, 1929, in Springfield, Mass., He was the son of Robert R. Trempe Sr. and Alice (Kirby) Trempe Caron. For many years, he drove trucks for various companies in and around New Hampshire, living in Mason, Greenville, Brookline, Milford, and Lyndeboro. He joined the U.S. Army National Guard in Milford, N.H., at a young age, and when his unit was activated in 1968, he served for three years in Vietnam. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Bronze Star. Mr. Trempe retired from duty while living in Spanaway, having achieved the rank of Command Sgt. Major. He enjoyed traveling and skiing. He was predeceased by an infant daughter, Shelly, and a son, Lloyd Jr. Family members include his wife, Laura Trempe of Spanaway; three sons, Michael Trempe of Colorado Springs, Colo., Mark Trempe of Derry, N.H., and Kevin Trempe of Blanford, Mass.; two daughters, Shirley Campagna of Huntington, Mass., and Kelly St. Marie of Westfield, Mass.; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a step-daughter, Sheila Trempe of Spanaway; three brothers, Roger L. Trempe Sr. of Greenville, N.H., Robert R. Trempe Jr. of Tarpon Springs, Fla; Paul E. Trempe of St. Petersburg, Fla.; five sisters, Joan Ebisch of Erie, Pa., Cecile Rousseau of Apache Junction, Ariz.; Annette Creighton of Brookline, N.H., Mary Ann Lemon and Claudette Grzywacz, both of Longmeadow, Mass.; many nieces and nephews.
