Lily Agnes (Ogleby) Amiet of Williamstown, City of Hobsons Bay County, VIC Australia was born in 1898 in Port Melbourne to Frederick John Ogleby and Rose Mary (Fisher) Ogleby. Lily Amiet had siblings Daphne Nellie Ogleby, William Charles Ogleby, Sylvia Alice Ogleby, George White Raymond Ogleby, Ernest William Ogleby, Frederick John Ogleby, and Daisy Elizabeth Jackson. She married Robert William Rowntree in 1927. She also married Leonard Montrose Amiet. Lily Amiet died at age 69 years old in 1967 in Williamstown.

He bought a Winton, which he had seen in an advertisement in Scientific American. The Winton, built in Ohio, was made by hand and came with a leather roof, padded seats, gas lamps, and tires made by B.F. Goodrich.
