    Leo Daniel O'Leary was born on March 12, 1914 in Elk Point, Union, South Dakota, USA to parents James Augustine O'Leary (1877-1927) and Sarah Jane White (1876-1964). He had siblings Agnes (1907-1907), James (1910-1910), Joseph (1911-1986), how twin sister Leona (1914-2005), and Mary O'Leary (born 1915). He married Frances J. Valle on May 28, 1946, in Washington, D.C. She died on June 5, 1964, in Falls Church, Virginia and he re-married to Lorraine Hagey on July 15, 1978, in Sioux City, Iowa. Leo worked as a maintenance Engineer at Holy Spirit Retirement Home for many years. Leo Daniel O'Leary enlisted on February 25, 1943 in Camp Dodge Herrold Iowa. He served in Europe with the United States Army during World War II and was discharged on January 18, 1946 He was father to children James, Charles, Thomas, Terrance, Stephen, Theresa Hill, Lynn O'Leary, Kathleen O'Leary, and an infant daughter Frances who did not survive. He was also father to step children Robert Hagey, Frank Hagey, and Connie (George) Kueny.

    Leo D. O'Leary, 80, of 1600 West Willis St., died Friday, November 4, 1994, at his residence after a long illness. Services will be 10AM Monday, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Lawrence McCarty officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Elk Point, South Dakota, with military graveside services conducted by American Legion Bert Smith Post 134 of Elk Point. Visitation will be 1-9PM, with a Scriptural wake service at 7PM, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Pallbearers will be Charles, Thomas, Terrance, Stephen and James O'Leary, Robert and Frank Hagey. Mr. O'Leary was born March 12, 1914, in Elk Point, South Dakota, the son of James O'Leary and Jennie White O'Leary. He married Frances J. Valle on May 28, 1946, in Washington, D.C. She died June 5, 1964, in Falls Church, Virginia. He married Lorraine Hagey on July 15, 1978, in Sioux City, Iowa. Mr. O'Leary was a Sioux City resident until moving to Falls Church, Virginia. in 1958. He returned to Sioux City in 1965. He was a maintenance Engineer at Holy Spirit Retirement Home for many years. Survivors include his wife, Lorraine; five sons: James, Charles, Thomas, Terrance, Stephen; three daughters: Theresa Hill, Lynn O'Leary, Kathleen O'Leary; two step-sons, Robert Hagey, Frank Hagey; a step-daughter, Connie (George) Kueny; his twin sister, Leone Skelton; two grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; six nieces and nephews.
