    Magdalena “Lena” (Urban) Dome was born to Joseph S. Urban (1870 - 1947) and Agnes Stegman (1870 - 1936) on December 12th, 1894 in Pfeifer, Kansas and she had siblings George, Adam "Ed", Barbara, Joseph, Leo, Mary R., and William. Lena Urban married Alvis Loren Dome (1891 - 1951) on June 1st,1915 and they had children Frances, William, Uberte, Florence, Alvin - who died in World War II, Armella, Henrietta, and Lillian. Twins Hubert and Herburt died in infancy. She was survived by thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. See Lena Dome: Obituary.

    Magdalen Urban Dome, daughter of Joseph and Agnes Urban, was born Dec. 12, 1894 in Pfeifer, Kan., and died Sept. 25, 1981 in the Catholic Center of the Aging in Wichita, Kan. at the age of 86 years, 9 months, 13 days. Lena was united in marriage to Alvis Dome on June 1, 1915 in Pfeifer, Kan., and to this union eight children were born. Lena was a member of the Catholic church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvis, on Dec. 18, 1951; three sons, Hubert and Herburt, twins that died as infants, and Alvin, who died in World War II. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, one grandchild and three great-grandchildren. Lena left as her survivors, one son, William D. Dome of Ashland, Kan.; four daughters, Mrs. Floyd (Frances) Canahan, Mrs. Hurless (Armella) Meredith, Mrs. Darwin (Henrietta) Oyler, and Mrs. Wayne (Lillian) Hardin, all of Wichita; one brother, William Urban of Norton, Kan.; two sisters, Mrs. Hugo (Barbara) Wiesner of Dighton, Kan., and Mrs. Nick (Mary) Herman of Norton, Kan.; 13 grandchildren an 14 great-grandchildren. Rosary was held Sunday evening at 8:00 p.m. in the Myatt Funeral Chapel in Ashland, Kan., and the Mass was held Monday, Sept. 28 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Burial was in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery with Father John Maes officiating. Music was provided by soloist, Judy Brown, who sang “Amazing Grace”, “Prayer of St. Francis”, and “The Lord’s Prayer”. The organist was Mary Callison. Ushers were Pete Stegman and Frank Wasinger.Pallbearers were all grandsons, Kenneth Dome, Ben Dome, Russell Hardin, Roger Hardin, Michael Gooding, and Donald Meredith. Myatt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. - Clark County Clipper (Ashland Kansas) October 1, 1981.
