He had siblings Elizabeth Albertha Hooper, Flora Evelyn Hooper, Mary Jane (Hooper) Lighton, Albert Henry Hooper, and James Edward Hooper. Lachlan Hooper died at age 7 years old in 1896 in Devenish.
