Forensics - Caught in the Middle
The following is from a wordpress blog titled "Forensics":
City: Miami, Florida
Crime: It was early morning in the Libert City neighborhood when a young boy spotted two dead bodies as he was on his way to school.
The infant rushes to get help and a neighbor proceeds to call 911. When detectives arrive at the scene, they are confronted by two bodies without identification with gunshot wounds and signs of brutal beatings. Fingerprints confirm the suspected victims: 32 year-old Andrae and 30 year-old Kevar Bain.
Evidence used to solve:
-A neighbor claims he witnessed a serious of suspicious events the night before. A dark gold vehicle pulled up and parked at the abandoned house. Five minutes after he heard four gunshots; the automobile fled what had now turned into a crime-scene shortly after.
-Family claims a friend was giving both of the victims a ride to cash false U.S. treasury checks.
-The friend arrives at the police station an hour after the detective give him a call, and he states that Drae needed $ 1,500 and that he was in risk of being evicted.
-Unknown men were going to supply the checks. The friend was not offered money, he drove the victims to a parking lot near a check cashing business, and when he arrived Kevar talked to the people.
-Friend walked over to BK and bought a soda and a burger, waited from 7-9. When he walked back to the parking lot he did not see Kevar. He went up to the silver infinity that the men with the checks traveled in, and saw that Andre was no longer inside.
-Friend states that he was driving a beige impala, therefore, cops decide to look through it. Nothing incriminating was found in the car (although he was dealing drugs, that is why he was so nervous).

-Family gives them a possible lead that also comes forward and gives a statement.
-At 7:21pm he gets a call from Andre the night of the murder ordering him to pick up garbage bag from the backyard and take it to the same parking lot the victims went, yet they were nowhere to be found when he got there.
-Andrae calls him again and tells him to go 2 blocks away from the crime scene and drop off the bag. The friend did not know which house he was supposed to drop the money off at, so he proceeded to leave the bag at a abandoned yellow house. He did not speak to the victim after that. Several weeks later a confidential source comes forward with information. The men with the checks were a group of drug dealers who had been ripped off and decided to go after the guys who introduced the scammers to them.
-The victims were placed in the car and the men began to communicate with the friend that was supposed to drop off the money. He proceeded to put the two boys in the car, then he threw them out in the abandoned backyard. “A friend was supposed to drop off the money in the street,” claims the witness. “The money was not delivered so they were shot.”
Results:
There were no leads nor any suspects. Months later both families continue to mourn their sons. Nobody was convicted, and the case remains open.
