    She was preceded in death by her parents: Claude and Thursie Brown, brother: Harold Brown, sisters: Virginia Moss, Berniece Canada, LaFern Brown and her son: Melvin Langley, grandson: Johnathan Langley and son-in-law: Jerry Stice. Katie leaves behind a multitude of family and friends to mourn her passing and keep her memory alive. They include her husband of over 69 years: Sam Langley, of the home near Westville, OK, children: Paul Langley and wife Judy of Siloam Springs, AR, Gail Stice of Westville, OK, Timothy Langley and wife Lynne of Siloam Springs, Marvin Langley and wife Glenda of Westville, LaFern Rose and husband Terry of Ada, OK, brother: Haskell Brown of Eldon, OK, sister: Pauline Moore of Owasso, OK, 12 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Funeral services were held at 10 am on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at the First Baptist Church, Westville, OK. Interment followed at Old Baptist Mission Cemetery, Westville, OK under the direction of Roberts & Hart Funeral Home, Westville, OK.

Katie's Story by Virginia Moss
Katie Ruth Langley, daughter of Claude Elmer Brown and Thursie Alice (Martin) Brown, was born on January 17, 1933 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and departed this life on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 in Westville, Oklahoma at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was 87 years young.

“A few short years ago, God sent a little flower.

So frail, so fragile, so sweet, touched by the dew from heaven.

He didn’t take her then, he wasn’t ready.

He had things for her to do.

She grew into a fine, lovely lady, with a smile on her face and much love to give.

She married a boy across the way, who loved her so very dearly.

Their love was great, their love was strong.

They raised four strong, handsome boys and two lovely daughters.

Their love stayed strong, their love stayed true.

They taught their children to love the Lord.”
