Kate Stafford Featherstone and son John D. Featherstone, Jr.; Galveston, Texas. John was tragically killed when 16 years old while on a hunting trip. His gun fell to the ground, discharging and hitting him in the leg. He bled to death because his friends did not know how to stop the bleeding. Kate never got over this loss.
