Karen and I saved our money and rented a 'horse' costume so we could be in the Seafair Parade in the U district, Seattle, Wa. After the parade, we walked down through the shops, entering Christiansen's Shoe Store. The owner was a childhood friend of my mothers. We walked through the store and when Don Christiansen, the owner, approached us, we cleverly asked for some 'horse shoes'....he played along and said, "sure, they are right over here-what color would you like?". Karen was the front, I got the 'behind'!

Hahaha this is an awesome photo Pammy! 15 years later I discover it for the first time because of recent design changes.

They were best friends from grade school through junior high, until we moved back to California. She even came to visit us in Saratoga. Unfortunately, Karen disappeared and was believed to have died sometime in our early 40s. Nice to remember her! She was so funny!
