She had a brother Hollis Joseph Kroetch. Juanita was baptized on May 30, 1901 at Catholic Church in Harrison, Idaho as recorded in the Catholic Diocese of Spokane. Juanita Maxwell died at age 34 years old on July 3, 1935 at St. Joseph Hospital, Aberdeen, WA, and was buried on July 3, 1935 at Aberdeen Cemetery Association- Fern Hill Cemetery 2212 Roosevelt St, in Aberdeen, Grays Harbor County, WA.

At that time, their mother Neillie took the children back to her hometown of Plainville, Kansas. Juanita attended school in Plainville until the age of 11, when her mother decided to move to Portland, Oregon to open a millinery shop, taking Juanita with her. When the millinery shop closed in January of 1912, Juanita and her mother moved to Hoquiam, Washington.

    Juanita married Guy Ervin Maxwell in 1923 in Aberdeen, WA. Juanita was using the surname "Abbott" at the time of her marriage. "Abbott" was the last name of her step-father, David 'Shirley' Abbott. On 7 August, 1925, her son James Milton 'Jimmy' Maxwell was born in Hoquiam, Washington. Juanita gave birth to a baby girl named named Shirley Jane Maxwell on April 4, 1927. Baby Shirley Jane passed away the same day. By the age of 33, Juanita had divorced Guy Maxwell and on June 8, 1934 remarried to Cecil Grant Bailey in Olympia, Washington. The registration of the license reflects the date of July 19, 1934...it also notes that both Juanita and Cecil were residents of the state of Oregon. On July 3rd, 1935, Juanita gave birth to a baby girl in Aberdeen, WA. Both mom and baby passed away on that day, as the baby was a breech birth and Juanita (aged 34) died from blood loss. toxemia and kidney failure. Mother and baby are buried in Fern Hill Cemetery, Aberdeen, Wa.
