He was a resident of Egg Harbor, Atlantic, New Jersey, when he registered for the draft around 1940. At the time, he was employed by Miss Matilda Devine and was 25 years old. Joseph then enlisted in the Army on August 13th, 1943, in Camden, New Jersey, at the age of 28. Joseph Telenko finally joined the Army on October 4th, 1943, as a Selectee. During his time in the military, he held the rank of Private and did not receive any branch assignment. He was discharged from the Army on October 26th, 1945.
