He married Juanita Ruth (Farmer) Washek on June 4, 1942 in Florida United States, and they were married until death separated them on November 30, 1989 in Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia United States. He had children Robert J. Washek, James P. Washek, and Juanita M. Washek. Joseph Washek died at age 72 years old on November 30, 1989 in Columbus, Muscogee County.
