Joseph Dameron Yeaman Sr. was born on June 5, 1890 in Ringgold, Pittsylvania County, Virginia United States to Eliza Ann (Richardson) Yeaman and Isaac James Yeaman, and had siblings Edna James (Yeaman) Adams, John George Yeaman, Martha Yeaman, Addie Jettie Yeaman, Hattie Amanda (Yeaman) Corbin, "Boss" Isaac Purofoy Yeaman, Ora Gustava (Yeaman) Braswell, Fitzhugh Lee Yeaman, Myrtle (Yeaman) Hudson, Mabel Clair Yeaman, Byron Olen Yeaman, Laila Virginia (Yeaman) Bartee, and Humphrey Jesse Yeaman. He married Lucille Shelton Yeaman on November 11, 1918 in Pittsylvania County, and they were married until Lucille's death on February 21, 1964 in Danville. He had children Joseph Dameron Yeaman Jr., Mary Edith (Yeaman) Dabbs Doak, Raymond Allen Yeaman, Rebecca Ann Yeaman, Phyllis Cathleen Yeaman, and Marion Yvonne Yeaman Dalton. Joseph Yeaman died at age 74 years old on September 2, 1964 in Danville, Pittsylvania County, and was buried on September 3, 1964 at Highland Burial Park N Main St, in Danville.

    J. D. Yeaman Sr. Dies At His Home Joseph Dameron Yeaman Sr., died this morning at 2:08 at his residence, 1608 Glenn St. He had been in declining health a number of years and confined to his bed for the past two weeks. Mr. Yeaman was born at Ringgold on June 5, 1890, a son of the late Isaac Yeaman and Eliza Richardson Yeaman. All of his life was spent in Danville. In December 1915, he married Miss Lucille Shelton, who died on Feb. 21 of this year. Mr. Yeaman was of the Christian faith and was a veteran of World War I. Surviving are two sons, J. D. Yeaman Jr., and Raymond A. Yeaman, both of Danville; four daughters, Mrs. Edith Y. Doak, Miss Rebecca Ann Yeaman, Miss Phyllis K. Yeaman and Mrs. Marion Dalton, all of Danville; one brother, H. Jesse Yeaman of Danville Rt. 3; four sisters, Mrs. Edna Adams of Pullman, Wash., Mrs. Myrtle Hudson of Roanoke and Mrs. Laila Bartee and Mrs. Ora Braswell, both of Danville Rt. 3; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 4:30 from the Wrenn-Yeatts Chapel and interment will follow in Highland Burial Park. The body will rest at the funeral home prior to the services, and the family will be at the residence, 1608 Glenn St.
