John V. Coker served as a Private in Phillips Legion, CSA, Georgia. Annie Webb Goggins saved about thirteen of his original letters written during the Civil war to family in Roswell, Georgia. Bill Parris Jr. inherited them and gave them to me . In one letter, John suggested the name for his youngest daughter, Alice Rebecca. It should be noted that two of John V. Coker's daughters appear to be born before the marriage. Why? I don't know.
