John Thomas Bennett 1767 - 1842

John Thomas Bennett was born on September 2, 1767 in Mansfield City, Tolland County, Conn. to Stephen Bennett and Hannah (Turner) Bennett, and had a brother Stephen Bennett. He married Mary (Slafter) Bennett in 1798, and they were married until death separated them. They had children Lydia Bennett Spencer, Delana (Bennett) Mann, Mary Eunice (Bennett) Mann, Naomi (Bennett) Bacon, Ruth Fellows (Bennett) Oviatt, Stephen J. Bennett, and Lois (Bennett) Cool. He would also marry Lydia (Elliott) Bennett, and they were married until Lydia's death in 1791. John Bennett died at age 74 years old in April 1842 in Independence, Allegany County, New York USA, and was buried at State Road Cemetery in Independence.
