John Rowan died at age 54 years old on December 10, 1905 in Albert Park, Port Phillip City County, VIC Australia, and was buried at Melbourne General Cemetery College Cres, in Parkville, City of Melbourne County.

    The Age, Melbourne. 12th December 1905. ROWAN.- On the 10th December, at his residence, No. 22 Withers-street, Albert Park, suddenly, John, the dearly beloved father of John Edward Rowan, and Mrs. J. and R. Lister, and Daniel, Bertie and Florence Rowan. Aged 55 years.
