He was in a relationship with Ethel Blanche Usher, and had children Hubert Wardlaw Usher, Arthur Norman Usher, Robert Sydney Usher, John Maurice G. Usher, Albert Edward Usher, Ina Eveline Edith Usher, Ethel Louise May Usher, and Harold George Usher. John Usher died at age 87 years old in 1948 in Belize City, Belize.
