WILSON. - On the 11th August, at St. Kilda, John Percy, dearly beloved husband of Mary Louisa Wilson, and loving father of Percy, brother of Frank ( Sydney ), Jessie ( Brisbane), father-in-law of Beatrice, and grandpa of little Elva, youngest son of the late Dr. E. J. Wilson, of Richmond. - Peacefully sleeping.

In 1879, at the age of just 13 years old, John was alive when on October 22nd, Thomas Edison tested the first practical electric light bulb. Lasting 13½ hours before burning out, it used a "a carbon filament or strip coiled and connected to platina contact wires".
