John Malowansky's History: 1887 - 1964

Uncover new discoveries and connections today by sharing about people & moments from yesterday.
  • Introduction

John Malowansky, or Uncle Jack as we called him, was born in CA in 1887 to John Malowansky and Marina Malowansky. He was brother to Paul, who dies when he was a young man. He was brother to Elene Malowansky Goutt, my great aunt (aka Gouttie) and my grandmother Lydia Malowansky Bradman. She was my mother's mother. I didn't know Uncle Jack as a young man, but from family lore he ran a speak-easy in San Francisco CA during Prohibition. He married Aunt Pearl during that time and when I was a little girl (1950s) they lived outside of Fresno, CA in a tiny home on a cotton farm. We always stopped to spend the night at their house on our way to visit my grandmother, Lydia Malowansky Bradman who lived in San Marino CA. I remember him as a very nice man, they also visited us in Santa Clara a few times in the 1950s. Uncle Jack and Aunt Pearl didn't have any children of their own.

Not according to the Guinness World Records book.

The Sun Belt thanks him!
