He was married to Mary Elizabeth Walker Russell on April 1, 1880, and they were together until Mary Elizabeth's death on May 14, 1932. He had children Dora L. Andrews, Homer Perry Andrews Sr., May Matilda Andrews, Nina Minerva (Andrews) Stewart, Edna Lorene (Andrews) Mims, and Otis Robert Andrews. John Andrews died at age 85 years old on April 30, 1942 at Sherman, Texas, United States.
