John Kennedy 1810-1860 Kilbride, Scotland. Master Mariner
For years I had been searching for my great grandfather's biological father. I recently found John Kennedy. He was a Master Mariner who lived in Kilbride, Buteshire, Scotland with his wife Lillias Shaw. They had a son David Kennedy in 1835. He was still married to Lilly when he fathered a child out of wedlock with another woman..That child was my great grandfather. He was named William Bell on his birth record but later went by the name of John Bell. (Bell was the mother's maiden name) I don't know if John Bell ever knew about his father. Kennedy died some time between April 1859 and April 1860. I have been struggling to find information about him aside from the 1851 census. There is a lot of information available about his siblings, parents and grandparents, but not any I can find about him and his life. I would love to know something about his sea travels, and what ship he captained, including pictures of the ship or him. I would love to find out any information I can about him.
