He had siblings Anna (1908-1921), Lorenzo (1909-2003), Selea Lawrence (born 1910), Fanny (born 1914), Bernardo (1914-1914), Salvatore (1916-1916), Lammy (born 1917), James Jack (1919-1993), Maria A (1920-1924), Joseph James ( 1923-2011), and Mary Siele (born 1925). John enlisted into the US Army on March 30, 1945 in New York City New York and was discharged on November 27, 1946. About three years later, he married Rosalie D Angelo on January 12, 1949 in Brooklyn, New York City, New York, USA. They had a daughter together named Nina.
