He married Marguerite Mary Goebel, and had children William Eugene Dickinson, John Peter Dickinson, Ann Marjorie Dickinson, Rachel Lyn Dickinson, and Peter-John Henry Dickinson. John Dickinson died at age 79 years old on December 4, 1984 in Sioux Falls, Minnehaha County, and was buried on December 8, 1984 at Canistota City Cemetery in Canistota, McCook County.

Dr. John Henry Dickinson (Boy) (1904 - 1984) Dr. John Henry Dickinson (Boy) was born on June 13, 1904 in Montrose, South Dakota. He was born to William and Pearl Ruby Phillips, with sibling Dale Donald. Dale Donald died in infancy. John Henry married Marguerite Mary Goebel and they gave birth to William Eugene Dickinson 1935 and John Peter 1946/. William Eugene had Rachel Lyn. John Peter had Ann Marjorie,Pete-John Henry, and David Dale. Dr. John Henry died on December 4, 1984 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at 80 years of age. His cause of death is listed as: pancreatic cancer. He was buried in Canistota City Cemetery, Canistota, South Dakota.

    DOCTOR JOHN HENRY DICKINSON WAS A PHYSICIAN IN GENERAL PRACTICE. HE WAS THE TOWN DOCTOR IN CANISTOTA, SD WHERE HIS FATHER HAD PRACTICED BEFORE HIM. IN 1964 Dr. AND MRS. DICKINSON MOVED TO FAIRFIELD, CA WHERE HE WAS THE DIRECTOR OF THE SOLANO COUNTY HOSPITAL. AFTER HIS RETIREMENT IN 1972 THE DICKINSONS SPENT THEIR SUMMERS IN THE FAMILY HOME IN CANISTOTA, SD AND THE WINTERS IN MESA, AZ. JOHN HENRY DICKINSON DIED OF PANCREATIC CANCER. HE WAS DIAGNOSED IN JANUARY OF 1984. HE WAS OPERATED ON AND GIVEN RADIATION TREATMENTS IN THE SPRING OF 1984; ENTERED Mc.KINNON HOSPITAL THE SECOND WEEK OF NOVEMBER; WAS IN A COMMA FROM THE 26TH OF NOVEMBER UNTIL HIS DEATH IN DECEMBER.
