John Harrison Murphy of Traralgon, Latrobe City County, VIC Australia was born on May 26, 1869 in Hotham Heights to William James Murphy and Sarah Jane (Harrison) Murphy. He had siblings Mary Jane "Fanny" Murphy, Letitia Isabella Murphy, Sarah Elizabeth (Murphy) Corrigan, James Paden Murphy, George Murphy, and Denis Patrick Murphy. He married Sarah Cook Murphy in 1894, and had children Thomas Murphy, William James Murphy, Sarah Murphy, and Lester Allan Murphy. John Murphy died at age 42 years old on January 17, 1912 in Traralgon.
